What is PAT testing?
PAT testing is a form of electrical testing that focuses on movable electrical appliances, as opposed to electrical installations. The ‘PAT’ stands for ‘portable appliance testing’. These appliances could be small items such as kettles or blenders, but could also be freezers or ovens. If the appliance can technically be moved, it can be PAT tested. PAT testing is particularly important for quite old or well-used appliances, to ensure they are still in good working order.
